Usually the music on the Dutch show ‘De Wereld Draait Door’ isn’t very exciting. Singers and bands performing shows that we have seen a million times. However, yesterday Q4 was rocking the building with a track created from more than thirty! individual records. The three men hailing from the wonderful city of Amsterdam stol.. euh.. sampled various records, mashed them up, turned them inside out and put them back in place. Cutting a drum from one record, snatching some horns from the next, it’s all part of the game. The end product of five years of hard labor is a stunning and atmospheric triphop album, released on 12” vinyl and CD. Check it out at Project Mooncircle, the label that signed Q4.
