Music soothes the savage beast. It is also the language of love. It can calm you to sleep and inspire you to revolt. Music can command your heart and change your way of thinking. It is no wonder music is such an integral part of our society today. From the radio waves to blockbuster movies, music helps shape our experience.
This maybe why Apple is so keen to introduce so many music-related products to the market right now. As a leader technology company, Apple knows that it is not only important to develop the hardware and software necessary to improve our user experience, but that users also need peripheral and specialty devices to reach a true state of elation.
And this is especially true of music; hence, Apple has already acquired Dr. Dre’s beats line and now, Apple Music is making the Sonos sound system available around the world. This means that anyone who has an Apple Music account (aka iTunes) can stream their catalog through Sonos smart speakers.
It was only two months ago that Sonos launched a beta program to allow users to add as many six family accounts so that every person in the household could listen to the music they love. And, it seems, so far this has proven a step in the right direction.
Apple executive Eddy Cue commented, in a statement, “The feedback from Apple Music members on Sonos during the beta period has been great. Sonos plus Apple Music provides an amazing listening experience tat home—and we’re excited to offer it to all Sonos customers.”
Similarly, Sonos CEO John MacFarlane comments, “This partnership has been an excellent example of two companies that truly care about music coming together to deliver a great listening experience. Working with Apple gives us the opportunity to share Apple Music throughout people’s homes in a way that’s easy, intuitive, and sounds great.”
Of course, if you are already a Sonos customer (but, somehow, have not yet been introduced to this new option) you can select “Add Music Services” on any Sonos controller application and then scroll down until you find the Apple icon. Click that and log into your Apple account and you can play your Apple Music on your Sonos speaker.
